2012 Goals - 9 month check in

Ok, so to be honest, I don't think I've even looked at this list since back in June....whoops.

  1. obtain my pre-pregnancy weight by February --- DONE!---Oops not quiet there yet, I gained a little back still within about 3 pounds
  2. obtain my wedding weight by October and my 7 year anniversary -- This so doesn't look like it is going to happen, but I'm still trying.
  3. participate in at least one 5k walk/run -- Signed up for the October one at my school
  4. take a vacation with just the hubby -- It was fabulous!
  5. read 3 "fun" books  -- 5 down, Thank you Hunger Games Trilogy & 50 Shades - No changes here
  6. de-clutter this mad house --  Garage sale was a success, my closet has been organized, and craft room shrunk
  7. start saving for the kitchen remodel (this goal I hope to have in 2017) -- my new SAH Business is making this a reality along with my ETSY store.  Plus I have been doing automatic deductions into my savings account
  8. retire wearing my judging pants.  I wear them far too often and I'll probably post about them later. -- This I think I've gotten better on.  I'm too busy to care about what other people are doing. Maybe people are just doing a better job staying out of my way :)  I feel less stressed about this part of my life now
  9. Blog more.  I love reading blogs and I really want to put more out there in the blogosphere, but for the right reasons which is what I sort of struggle with currently.  -- Thank you continued readers!--Woot!  Woot!  I keep growing and am now trying to get more on Twitter too.  I'm also toying with the idea of going to BlogHer 2013!
  10. Complete at least 50% of my 2011 scrapbook-- This one I just added since I'm going on a retreat in November and I don't want to get too far behind.
  11. Adopt a family next Christmas. -- still wanting to do this one, but have some time still

Fall mini Goals:
  1. Complete my 2010 Scrapbook -- Haven't touched it in months
  2. Continue journaling my food intake
  3. Use my Zumba Groupon
  4. Go pick pumpkins as a family
  5. Enjoy my "mom" weekend getaways -- I've got 2 planned that I'm psyched for
  6. Actually decorate my front porch for fall

I realized I never updated my Halloween Pictures.

My little guys were just adorable this Halloween and boy did they haul in the treats.

Alex dressed up as Spider Man for trick-or-treating at preschool and had a great time going around the classrooms getting goodies.

For actual trick-or-treating, Alex went as a fireman and Cameron went as his faithful companion, a dalmatian.  I have to pat myself on the back for decorating the wagon up as a fire truck.

I liked getting into the spirit of the season.  It is such a let down when the trick-or-treaters that do come around have no costumes or manners :(

Good thing I got this up before the next holiday!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken

I love spicy Buffalo Chicken and this tasty recipe was a snap to make.

I found this on Pinterest originating from here but below is my own variation and recommendations.

3-4 Chicken Breasts (I used fresh)
Franks Red Hot Sauce (regular or buffalo)
Dried Ranch Dressing Mix
2-3 tbsp. butter

Place Chicken in Slow Cooker
Pour approx. 1/2 bottle of sauce on top
1/4 to 1/2 of the dressing mix.  (I used 1/2 and found it to be too salty)

Cook on low for 6-8 hours

Shred up the chicken, add more sauce or a little water if necessary, but the chicken will shred up perfectly.
Put butter on top for about 15 more minutes, stir and then serve

**I think adding a little cream cheese to this recipe also might be a nice addition, but I'd melt that in the slow cooker prior to adding the chicken**

This is so yummy and very versatile to serve with anything.  I especially love it mixed in a cool salad with a little ranch dressing.  With the Super Bowl coming up too this would be a…

Pirate Party Game - Ring Toss

Why didn't I think of this?!  I came across this from Hostess with the Mostess site, my go-to party planning inspiration blog.  What an awesome game and pretty inexpensive if you were a savvy shopper and picked up the pirate hooks for $1 at Target along with some swim diving rings also in the $1 spot.

This would've been perfect for Alex's 4th Birthday Pirate Party where we played "Pin the Hook on Captain Hook".
